Scriptchat is delighted to have Katie Lovejoy @katielovejoy guest on our USA chat this Sunday, July 10th to discuss how to best navigate the world of screenwriting. There’s no better way to learn than from the advice of those who have been there.
Katie Lovejoy grew up in Southern California. She graduated in 2009 from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, and, during her tenure there, Katie won the 2008 Humanitas Student Drama Fellowship Award with a spec episode of HOUSE MD, which led to her representation by both her entertainment lawyer and her agent.
After graduating, Katie worked as a professional reader and then as a showrunners' assistant and writers' assistant on the SyFy show Eureka, until she was hired for her first professional feature writing job in March of 2010.
Last year, Katie sold a pitch to a major network for a one-hour television pilot, and in December of 2010, her feature script THE ARSONIST'S LOVE STORY made the Blacklist, the highest ranked script written by a female writer that year.
Katie is currently juggling the feature world with the television world, writing specs, competing for assignments, and once the networks open their doors, pitching pilots all over again.
Please join us in welcoming Katie to our great community!
