Stephany Folsom on Scriptchat Tonight, July 13th!
Don't miss Stephany Folsom on Scriptchat, Sunday July 13, 2014 at 5pm PT.
Stephany @StephanyFolsom grew up at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Raised in a family of educators and artists, Stephany always wanted to be a writer. At the age of 17, she packed up an old Chevy Corsica with her worldly belongings and left home to attend film school in Los Angeles. While still in school, Stephany learned the realities of movie making by assisting director Tony Scott on set.
From there she worked at a major studio and production company, where she took up the mantle of TV and film development, learning the ins and outs of her craft. After her stint in development, Stephany finely tuned her storytelling skills traveling the world. She produced a series of short-form documentaries on the worldwide AIDS crisis, human trafficking and the drug trade. After spending some time in war zones and Third World countries, Stephany decided to return to a calmer life in Los Angeles and focus on her writing. These days, Stephany keeps all the high-stakes drama on the page, and she highly recommends that no matter where you go – always bring extra toilet paper.
Stephany’s first script 1969: A SPACE ODYSSEY made the coveted Black List and Hit List. She is currently adapting Harlan Coben’s MISSING YOU for Brett Ratner’s RatPac and Warner Bros.
