Chris Sparling, Screenwriter of BURIED, Guests on USA Scriptchat November 20, 2011

Scriptchat is honored to have screenwriter Chris Sparling join us to guest on our USA chat this Sunday.

Born in Providence, RI, Chris Sparling @chrissparling began his film career first as an actor, and then as an actor/writer/director, working mostly on haphazard, no-budget indie projects that afforded him the education on filmmaking he was never provided in college (probably because he was a Criminal Justice major).

He finally found mainstream success with his screenplay for the film BURIED, starring Ryan Reynolds, which was acquired at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival by Lionsgate Films and later released to critical praise.  Chris was awarded Best Original Screenplay by the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures and by the Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematograficas de Espana at los Premios Goya Awards (Spain's Academy Awards).

His next film, the horror/thriller ATM, will be released this winter by IFC Films, and he is currently working with producer M. Night Shyamalan on REINCARNATE, the second film in the three-part "Night Chronicles" series.  Chris will make his feature directing debut this spring with FALLING SLOWLY, a supernatural drama/thriller for which he also wrote the screenplay.

Join us this Sunday, November 20th, to welcome Chris to our Scriptchat community!
